Join our Board of Directors

Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll (AHI) is a fully accredited hospital serving Ingersoll and the surrounding areas for over 100 years. We are committed to supporting the health of our communities with excellent patient care and accessible specialized services. 

AHI is governed by a volunteer, knowledge-based Board of Directors comprised of seven elected and four ex-officio members. As such the Board is composed of members collectively possessing knowledge and experience in governance, strategic planning, quality, the health field, business management, financial and legal matters, collaboration, risk management, patient advocacy and volunteer leadership and/or public service. AHI Board of Directors has been operating as a Joint Board of Directors with Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital since 2014.

Joint Board members have a unique opportunity to help shape health care for our community. The Joint Board’s governance responsibilities include oversight and accountability for both AHI and TDMH:

  • Mission, Vision and Values
  • Strategic planning
  • Financial stewardship
  • Quality and performance monitoring
  • Stakeholder communication

We encourage applicants with a broad range of backgrounds and skills who reside in the area and are interested in using their expertise to make a difference in the health and well-being of our communities.  Successful candidates should be prepared to attend a minimum of 2-4 Hospital meetings per month. 

Joint Board members are also given the opportunity to attend Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) governance education sessions as appropriate. Directors are appointed for a three-year term (with the possibility to reapply for two additional terms).
