COVID-19 – AHI and TDMH Visitor Restrictions
Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll are suspending general visiting effective Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 7am.
The difficult decision to move to the emergency measures level of AHI and TDMH’s Family Presence Guidelines is in response to a rapidly increasing number of COVID-19 cases in our community and region, and is a precaution to keep patients, families and our health care teams safe as transmission rates rise and risk a crisis point for hospitals.
Virtual (online) visits for family, friends and loved ones can be scheduled seven days a week for all patients by contacting AHI at 519-485-1700, extension 0 and TDMH at 519-842-3611, Ext. 0 24 to 72 hours in advance.
Approved Care Partners will be permitted entry to the hospitals in accordance with their agreement with the hospitals.
Care teams will work with families regarding visits for exceptional circumstances on a compassionate basis.
“It is with a heavy heart that we are moving to visitor restrictions, especially at this time of year. We want to reassure families the staff working at the hospital recognize how distressing this news is. Please know that we are committed to being there for your loved ones when you can’t be. We will smile at them, we will talk to them, we will listen to them, and we will care for them”, says Cheryl Pfaff, Chief Nursing Executive.
